In the past, convenient features such as telescopic design, all-season applicability, and high load capacity were often accompanied by an increase in the weight of trekking poles, which was considered a "common sense" fact. The ATP-125 is precisely designed to break this convention.

The ATP-125 utilizes a special carbon fiber tubing with excellent strength-to-weight ratio, and through a unique connection method, achieves both lightweight design and high load capacity.

With a folded length of only 38cm, an adjustable range of 100cm to 125cm when in use, a high load capacity of 36kg, and a minimum weight of just 126g, it achieves an ultra-lightweight design.

If you compare the surface of the ATP-125 with that of a typical carbon fiber tube, you can clearly observe the difference in carbon fiber texture.

Typical carbon fiber tubes use unidirectional carbon fiber fabric (UD Sheet) as the core material, with a checkered 3K carbon fiber fabric layered on the outside.
The advantage of this method is that it does not require large-scale production equipment, but the disadvantage is that it requires overlapping multiple layers of fiber fabric, resulting in a lower carbon fiber content ratio, making it difficult to improve the strength-to-weight ratio.

The ATP-125, on the other hand, is woven using Direct Filament Winding technology, which effectively increases the carbon fiber content ratio, giving the tube excellent strength-to-weight ratio, thereby achieving a perfect balance of lightweight design and high load capacity.

Original Folding Connection Structure

Generally, compact trekking poles are mainly divided into two types: "telescopic" and "folding."

Telescopic poles offer a wide range of length adjustment and have a low failure rate, but their smaller top shaft diameter becomes a bottleneck in terms of strength, and also limits the potential for lightweight design.

Folding poles, while maintaining a consistent shaft diameter, require a small gap at the connection points. When increased load causes the shaft to bend, the ferrule and shaft wall at the connection point tend to create point contact, which can become a potential weak point for breakage.

商品画像1Although the ATP-125 adopts a folding design, its connection points feature a unique threaded locking structure that is distinctly different from conventional products. When the shaft bends under load, stress is distributed to at least two contact points—the threaded section and the ferrule—forming a reinforced structure that is less prone to breakage.

Even more notably, lightweight and high-strength 7000 series aluminum alloy threaded components are used, which inherently provide structural reinforcement. This connection design not only ensures fault tolerance but also maintains the overall lightweight advantage.

Traditional folding trekking poles rely on internal steel wires to connect the sections. To prevent breakage, a steel wire structure typically covered with rubber or silicone is used, which makes it difficult to reduce weight.

The ATP-125 innovatively replaces traditional steel wires with an elastic cord reinforced with Dyneema® ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Even if it accidentally breaks during use, the threaded locking structure between the sections can maintain a basic connection (only convenience is affected, not structural strength).

It also features a modular design that users can replace themselves:
- No need to send back to the original manufacturer for repair
- Simple disassembly and assembly process
- Quick replacement of elastic cord at any time
