6年後的紐西蘭遊記 1/2

New Zealand travel diary 6 years later 1/2

After a long absence, I returned to New Zealand alone, but now I have a new interest - camping. In the past, when I lived in New Zealand, I mostly did road trips, hiking in the mountains and playing in the water, and I didn’t have the skill of photography. After I came to live in Hong Kong, especially after running Nothingblue, I always felt a little regretful. " "It would be great if I could learn photography." "It would be great if I could do more NZ trails and camping." So this time I travel to New Zealand alone with a little bit of a compensating feeling, and I hope I can bring more wild things to Hong Kong. .

Off-topic: New Zealand is such a fantastic place. When talking about New Zealand, 9 out of 10 people will subconsciously mistake it for Australia, saying, "Oh, Australia is so fun." "Have you finished reading about Australia?" 'Is it freezing in Australia?' etc. Does anyone have the same feeling?

Digression 2: Remember to declare when you bring camping supplies or hiking shoes into the country because you have to protect New Zealand soil and other reasons. If you don’t wear them, you will be fined.

Talking about New Zealand, it is a relatively unpopular place for Hong Kong people to travel. It may be far away, relatively expensive, or there are not many urban areas. New Zealand is a country that values nature and environmental protection. Plastic ban, recycling, nature conservation, sustainable development, etc. are the reasons why it still has many beautiful natural scenery.

New Zealand is mainly divided into the North Island and the South Island. The South Island has relatively many natural landscapes and mountain trails. It is also my second hometown, so I took a self-driving tour around the entire South Island for ten days and drove almost 1,600 kilometers. to 2000km.

After a 12-hour flight, we arrived in Christchurch. After getting off the plane, we immediately picked up the car and drove for more than 3 hours to the next town, Dunedin. We stayed for a few days to meet family and friends before setting off for the main destination - Queenstown.

Queenstown is an important tourist town because of its nearby national parks, a large number of mountain trails, mountains, lakes, rivers, glaciers, etc. Basically, hiking will definitely start from Queenstown, and one day I arranged to board the Ben lomond track via the Tiki trail (you can You can’t take the cable car (tiki trail). The entire tiki trail climbs almost 1600m, and the return is about 6 hours + tiki trail 1 hour. The path is not difficult, but it still requires a certain amount of physical strength. There are also snow-covered skating surfaces near the mountain peaks. . But the overall scenery is beautiful. If you have an extra day in Queenstown, you can try it out.
