MacLehose Trail Travel Notes

MacLehose Trail is a hiking trail from Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung to Tuen Mun. It is divided into ten sections with a total length of about 100KM. There are 200 distance posts in the middle, one every 500 meters. Many people know each other so I don't need to explain.

The most frequently asked questions are about the Gear List. I will divide it into 3 parts. The first one will be a brief introduction of pure equipment, and the next two will be sharing travel experiences.

This time, the whole walk lasts for 4 days and 3 nights, which is a relatively relaxed number of days. It is suitable for those who want to enjoy the feeling of walking, especially those who are good at photography, beginners or those who do not exercise much.

And because I brought a camera with me, so before departure, I took the left camp, The one, and transferred to Gg’s sky screen, Twin tarp, for 3 days. So List is not a charter.

Last time I finished talking about equipment, this time I will talk about Fanmai Trail. I hope everyone can feel the tranquility and beauty of Hong Kong’s mountain trails. In this article, I will briefly talk about the itinerary, the distribution of food and equipment, special attention or interesting things.

The MacLehose Trail is actually a relatively easy and simple route. The main test is physical strength. Many people ask whether it is possible to get it, and it is dangerous...etc. In fact, I think the wheat path itself is not dangerous, but there are many supply points and exit routes. If you do exercise, it should not be a big problem (I don't do any exercise in adulthood). As long as you are well prepared, you can easily complete this wheat path. Of course, it is best to find a partner, especially a girl, mainly because if you go camping, you will have a great chance to walk the night mountain, and there is a chance that you will be surrounded by dogs, encounter wild boars, stick firewood, etc.

And 4 days and 3 nights is a relatively comfortable number of days. If it is in the form of camping, you can spare time to take pictures of the scenery along the way. If you have a camera to shoot, you will do less exercise. If you want to enjoy more camping, you can feel it. Use this number of days to go, and the other most common days are 3 days and 2 nights, about 35km per day.

Preparation:
I think my friends who have seen my last trip to Maijing know that I didn’t see the left pair of Hoka lol this time I bought the left pair of new shoes Topo and started again! And those who look at my Gear list will find that this time I will go to the camp in the form of a dick, that is, I will not bring camping training. In fact, I put the left GG The One in my bag, but before departure Zhong felt that it was still a little heavy, so he took it out and replaced it with a GG Twin Tarp. First, it can lighten the weight by 400g and connect the nails. It's too expensive to set up revenue, so I changed the set up of this little cowboy.

Set off:
After eating in Sai Kung City, the taxi enters the starting point of Pak Tam Chung at 2 o'clock late. In fact, there are no special places to pay attention to in the first two sections. There are many camping places along the way, surrounded by garbage, and a lot of burning Pit, I hope everyone can mention friends to each other. On the first day, I wanted to go to Shuilangwo to spend the night, but because I was late, I switched to camping in Zhangshang. At night, simply set up a canopy, eat a dehydrated rice, wear earplugs and follow the training. (Earplugs are the key to good sleep)

On the second day, I got up early and went to Zhangshangshi to eat more breakfast siu mai, and set off with 1L of filled water, because after that, the water level of many fills was like a water wave, but after that, I should go to Ma'anshan, the big boss that everyone talks about. Afterwards, I went to Huihui Pavilion and thought about staying overnight, but I had enough energy, so I walked more d lines to bury Shizi Bijia Mountain, and went to spend the night near Jiulongao.

The 3rd day starts from Jiulongao. The 3rd day should be the hardest day. In addition to going to the Needle Mountain on the left, going up the Grass Mountain and then going up to Tai Maoshan, the most important point is that the body is already the most tired after two days of hiking. What a day.

But it is also the day when I think the most beautiful scenery and the most camera I come out. As soon as the waves open, I enter the Chengmen Reservoir. Eagle’s Nest Mountain Jinshan is a mountain that feels like a forest, and it is also the most human The mountain where animals coexist, (but everyone remembers not to feed wild animals privately, in addition to making them unaware of their own wild food, it will make them more aggressive)

And when I went to fill the water in the public toilet of Shing Mun Reservoir, a friend @mt.dimension came from afar, brought the left d chocolate bar and offered free coke, the most important thing is that I exchanged a pack of dehydrated rice with him for a pack of food before leaving... I really want to vomit. I suggest that if the itinerary is more than 3 days up, you can bring more wild food with different tastes. Many people ask me about diet. If you read my first article, you will see that I brought 8 packs of rice (gomoku x4 Muchroom rice x4) and 2 packs of chicken breasts. I have a few chicken breasts I want to buy but I don’t know if it’s a daily sale (purchased from Chamony). If you are interested, I suggest you bring a pack of Muji curry. Flavored chicken breast, Japanese rice noodle MSG powder, etc.. After the trip, I think having a happy dining experience will affect the whole travel experience.

Afterwards, I was in a hurry because I wanted to rush to get Sister Lian’s food. I went to Damaoshan at 9 o’clock in the evening. Lucky Cai boldly asked Sister Lian if she could buy dry food (Sister Lian was locked). I bought leftover siu mai and packed it before continuing on the road. , See physical strength permits to go to Tian Fuzai before going again. In addition, it takes 4 more hours to complete the wheat path in 3 days, but I think I want to slow down because I always want to enjoy the nature, there is no point in churning, so it is more than one night everyone.

There is nothing special to say until the last day. I went to the entrance of Qiandao Lake and there was a sister who was in front of me because of the heatstroke and dizziness. Because the weather and temperature have been quite different recently. Heatstroke, so if you feel dizzy while walking, remember to slow down and go to a cool place to rest and replenish water.

The last section is a relatively flat and ordinary concrete road, and the wheat path is completed plainly!

It lasted 4 days and 3 nights with a load of about 9kg
100KM

experience:
1. The first thing I want to say is that if the ability permits, Arino will do it if he wants to do it, and he will not do it once he thinks about it. The wheat path is actually relatively simple and safe. It is best to practice for a period of time before departure. It’s not easy to ask a person if he can do it. You will know if he can do it. If you don’t know, it means you are not ready for it. So just find a partner.
2. Try to lighten the weight as much as possible, and it can be far away by half a kilogram. Because I want to bring a camera, I will lighten the camp first, but I don’t recommend it. If you have less land, there is a relatively high chance that animals will enter you. You may not get used to tarp in the face, so your sleep quality may not be good, and it will affect your performance the next day. And I have used earplugs myself, but it depends on the person, Solo does not recommend wearing it, it is best to bring it with a companion. Try to calculate the approximate weight of your Gear, and put it into the backpack according to the weight and usage. If it is heavy, it is not good to hang it out and swing it down, so as not to shift the center of gravity to the rear.
3. Trekking sticks are a must (I use GG LT5, it’s really good, let me sell the advertisement)
4. There are many water levels in the Wheat Trail, but if you are not familiar with it, it is recommended to bring at least 1.5L for each trip, and you can fill more d in front of Needle Mountain or Ma'an Mountain.
5. Wild food is like what I said, try to be as rich as possible if the situation permits.
6. Someone asked me to go to the shower to solve the problem. I don’t need to wash in the shower. Fortunately, it’s ok in winter. I’ll bring body wipes, but there are many public toilets along the wheat path that don’t need to be washed.
7. There are actually a lot of training positions, so don’t have to follow me, because everyone’s pace and time are different. If you have a chance, you will be completely different from me if you finish in 3 days. , the most important thing is to get up and go with LNT the next day, and there will be no problem. 3 days and 2 nights, the most standard system, the first day of training in Shuilangwo, the second day of training in the lead mine camp

8. You can bring massage cream and do stretching massage before training.

9. Finally, it is recommended that you bring the familiar Gear instead of the exciting Gear, or use it after familiarizing yourself with it.

There are so many things to share, and wearing a helmet is not a master. This article is mainly for friends who are newbies or want to challenge Maijing. If you want to talk about anything, share and correct it, you can DM me.

And you can DM me if you are interested or if you have no idea after watching it.

In the end, I hope that all of you who have seen it will like my picture, and you can feel the tranquility and beauty of the mountain.
